Phnom Penh International Airport

The airport of Phnom Penh is a small but cosy airport that in recent years has grown enormously in terms of the number of travelers (from half a million in 1998 to 1.2 million in 2007). This has to do with the growing tourism in Cambodia and the arrival of regional budget flights. The airport is modern, efficient and clean, and above all free from any kind of corruption, all things that are pretty rare in Cambodia.

Most rates mentioned here are in American dollars, a generally accepted currency in Cambodia. The local currency riel is only used for smaller amounts and as change, €1.00 is worth approximately 5,000 riel (March 2008).
